SRA - "Working for the Community"

Selsdon is a leafy suburb in the south of Croydon and borders the Green Belt. Residents have easy access to green spaces, great transport links, a high life expectancy and a low crime rate.

This site, run by the SRA, will tell you more about our area, our community, our history and other useful information. Please see About the SRA to find details of who we are, what we do, how you can get involved or how to contact us.  As well as this website we also have a Facebook page Selsdon Residents Association and a monthly printed Gazette The Selsdon Gazette which contains great articles and local stories. We also have local noticeboards around Selsdon containing news of current events.

The Selsdon Resident’s Association (SRA) is a voluntary non-profit organisation run for and by, residents of Selsdon. It was formed in 1926 with the aim of advancing and protecting the interests of Selsdon Residents. The SRA is non-sectarian and non-political.

The SRA Committee discuss, represent and take action on Selsdon issues, hold an AGM (usually in March), organise events and communicate with residents via The Selsdon Gazette, this website or individually where appropriate.

See the separate About the SRA page for more details.

Council electoral boundary changes

From May 2018 Croydon Council changed the electoral boundaries.  Our existing Selsdon membership is now split over three different Council Wards. For more information on the background, the effect of the changes, a detailed list of roads and the SRA’s response please click here. In summary the SRA will continue to represent the whole of Selsdon and will consult with all relevant Councillors and other neighbouring Residential areas to ensure our combined views are heard.

AGM Cancellation Notice 17/03/20

SRA Annual General Meeting
on 1st April will not now be held as planned.

2019 AGM Minutes and Reviewed Accounts 2019-20 will be published immediately on the SRA website and in the April Gazette.

Please contact the SRA via email if you have any questions about these.

Election of Officers, Committee and appointment of annual Accounts reviewer

All currently holding these posts have indicated they are willing to continue for another year. In the current exceptional circumstances, we do hope you will accept this offer.

Proposed increase of annual subscription to £5 per household w.e.f 1st June 2020

Ratification of this proposal would have been sought at the AGM.

We still need the increased income, so can we please assume this would have been given?

So we can gauge opinion, please contact us by 1st April if you disagree with this.

We will miss meeting our supporters but feel the potential health implications of holding the AGM are too significant to ignore, even if, officially, such a meeting is still permitted by then.

Keep well - and hope to see you at an event later in the year.
