SRA - "Working for the Community"

Selsdon is a leafy suburb in the south of Croydon within London's 'Green Belt'. Residents have easy access to green spaces, great transport links, a high life expectancy and a low crime rate.

This site, run by the SRA, will tell you more about our area, our community, our history and other useful information. Please click on the 'About the SRA' tab above to find out details of who we are, what we do, how you can get involved or how to contact us.

As well as this website, we also have a Facebook group 'Selsdon Residents' Association', a Twitter/'X' feed '@selsdonresassoc ' and a monthly printed newsletter 'The Selsdon Gazette', which contains great articles and local stories. We also have local noticeboards around Selsdon containing news of current events.

2018 Council electoral boundary changes

From May 2018 Croydon Council changed the council electoral boundaries.  Our existing SRA Selsdon membership is now split over three different Council Wards. For more information on the background, the effect of the changes, a detailed list of roads and the SRA’s response please click here.

In summary the SRA will continue to represent the whole of the SRA Selsdon membership and will consult with all relevant Councillors and other neighbouring Residential areas to ensure our combined views are heard.

1926-2024 - The SRA is 98 years old! Still going strong with your help.

High Street greenery - At various times you may see our members working to improve our green areas of the high street – planting or watering etc. If you would like to help, we’d love to hear from you!

During National Tree week in November 2023 the SRA planted a mix of 150 native saplings in Queenhill Playspace supplied free by The Woodland Trust with permission of the Council and the aid of 3rd Selsdon Brownies and Guides and helpers. A further 150 trees were planted in Selsdon Recreation Ground in January 2024 with the aid of the 2nd Selsdon and Addington Scout group.

As you know we still need money each year to fund the SRA activities. Annual household membership payable in June is £5. Any additional donations will fund the Christmas lights on the high street. We now offer Online banking or payment by standing order and we also still take cash. Go to the ‘About the SRA’ page for the details.
